Who processes the used oil materials?
The used oil materials governed by the Regulation are treated by SOGHU registered processors. This commercial activity takes place without the intervention of SOGHU, except in the case of plastic oil containers where SOGHU pays an incentive of 30¢ per kilogram of plastic for the decontamination of the containers and the subsequent reduction into pellets or into reusable plastic resin so that it can be placed back on the market to produce new plastic containers or other products.
What documentation do I
need to complete in order to register as a SOGHU Processor?
It is important to read through
the Collectors and Processors Manual to fully understand the program.
This manual, along with all of the necessary documents to register, can be
found on the bottom right of this page in PDF format.
To register as a SOGHU
Processor, you must send the following items to SOGHU:
a) the Processor
Registration Form and all of the documents outlined therein
b) 2 copies of the Processors
Agreement, signed, dated and initialled on every page
c) the Processors
Registration Questionnaire completed, signed and dated.
Important note: Original signatures are
required so only registrations that are sent via mail are accepted.
SOGHU will examine the documents received and if all is in order, SOGHU
will send the registrant their registration certificate along with a copy of
their Processors Agreement signed by SOGHU. Only filter, plastic container and
aerosol Processors are displayed on SOGHU’s website.
What
documentation do I need to complete in order to register with SOGHU as an
Internal Collector-Processor?
In
the case of a registration for an Internal Collector-Processor, SOGHU requires
all of the documents required for a Collector registration AND
all those for the Processor registration.
SOGHU will examine the
documents and if all is in order, SOGHU will forward the registration
certificate to the registrant along with a copy of the Agreements (Collectors
and Processors) signed by SOGHU.
